Tricky balancing act: fitting within the form, the style, yet being an interesting, passionate, individual artist.

For me the take-home is that, whether in popular music or classical forms, the style is bigger than you and me. Respect the form. Honor the style. Learn some taste. As an interpreter, figure out where I have artistic license and where I do not.

If I don't, I'm acting like a child.
